Flu season is a drag!
Marin's birthday party went great. I think everyone had a fantastic time. Then she got the flu. [:(] She had been congested all week and then she started to have a fever so I took her to the pediatrician who told us she tested positive for both the A and the B strain. So we had to get medication to treat both. I drove to Walgreens to drop off the prescriptions. The pharmacist said they were out of Amantadine and the only pharmacy in town that had it was the one inside Albertsons. So she asked if I would like them to fill the Tamiflu or if I wanted to take them both over to Albertsons and have them filled together. I decided to take them both to get filled at the same location. When I got to Albertsons the pharmacist there said they had the Amantadine but no Tamiflu. At this point I wanted to throw my hands in the air but my sick daughter needs her meds so I got the Amantadine and drove back to Walgreens to get the Tamiflu filled. Apparently flu season is in full effect and supply for medication is in demand. Luckily, I did not catch it. (KNOCK ON WOOD) I was taking Airborne like crazy while I was staying home with her since she could not go to daycare. Eric felt a little sick for about a day but it seemed to go away (probably just a hangover [;)])
Marin had her first ballet class on Monday night. I didn't know if she was too young or not but the Dance Company of Wylie takes 2-3 year olds in their Intro to Ballet class. So I let Marin do a trial class to see if she liked it. She kind of just stood there the entire time watching the instructor. She didn't cry...she didn't play around...she just stared. The
BIRTHDAY PARTY (CLAP-CLAP..clapclapclap)
Marin's birthday party is this weekend and I am trying to get her excited about it so I came up with a chant I've been using the past few days. Actually, I didn't make it up...it is
At McDonalds you get a Big Mac, at McDougal’s you get a Big Mic
This morning I was hankering for a latte from Starbucks but I was already running late for work and Starbucks always has an extremely long line of people. Even though they have locations everywhere they all seem to be so crowded. And the last time I went there they would not give me a cup sleeve because they claim to be suffering in this economy. Yeah, right! So on my way to work I go through Murphy and they just opened a Saxby's Coffee Shop. I had never heard of this place before it came to town so I stopped in and I swear my first thought went to Eddie Murphy's classic movie "Coming to America" where he worked at McDougal's that was a knockoff of McDonald's. "At McDonalds you get a Big Mac, at McDougal's you get a Big Mic". Well at Starbucks you get a Frappacino, at Saxby's you get a Frolatte. It looks just like a Starbucks on the inside. They also have the syrup flavor station, the section of mugs for sale, and the free WIFI. They have regular sizes of small, medium and large...none of that tall, grande, venti mumbo jumbo. They are a little cheaper, probably 30 cents less than Starbucks. I ordered a Cinammon Latte which was pretty good. They are
