Eric’s Playground Trip
We had a really nice weekend. We got a lot done around the house. We (Eric) washed both our cars, cleaned out the garage, put in spotlights behind our shrubs to accent the front of our house and put in a new vanity light in our bathroom. We also found time to play on 2 different playgrounds. The one downtown is okay but only has a few slides and some swings. Saturday night after we ventured over to Founders Park which is behind Wylie High School. It has a much better impressive playground. It is themed after pirates since that is Wylie's mascot. They have a section for the smaller kids which is where we took Marin but Eric was just itching to go play on the big kids stuff. I could see him looking over at the other section and he finally took off over there to play. It was in the evening so there wasn't but 2 other kids there and he was able to play like he was a kid again. I took a few pictures to capture the moment of him getting back in touch with his adolescence. We had fun and as we were leaving we saw fireworks in the sky. We could never figure out where they were coming from but we stopped and watched the free show. Next weekend is Diboll Day so we will be headed to East Texas. Fun, fun, fun...

MELMO!! VEGAS!!
It has been a while since I blogged. This stupid new web site has me thouroughly confused. I am not even sure if I will be able to get this posted but we will see. I personally liked the site just the way it was but I guess Eric had reasons for changing it. Anyway...
Marin is in her new toddler bed...yay! We had originally decided to get her straight into a full size bed but when we started looking at beds and realized how high they would be for her we changed our mind. We thought about just doing the mattress and no box spring but the beds we liked would have looked funny without the height. So PLAN B...we bought her an inexpensive toddler bed at Walmart. The crib we have actually turns into a toddler bed but when we took off the side rail she freaked out. I think it was because it was still a little too high off the ground but the new toddler bed is very low to the ground and she has no problem climbing in and out of it. The first night we had it she slept on it just fine. We took the bookcase out of her room because we feared she might get up and try to climb it to get a book or something so it is temporarily in the guest room. She has a radio that we usually turn on for her at night. I think we have it on the classical channel. Anyway, it currently sits on the floor and the other night she apparently climbed out of her bed and turned it off because it was not on when Eric went in to get her the next morning. I guess she can only take SO much classical music.
