I never thought I would get tired of steak
Eric and I have been trying to lose a few pounds lately since we are going to Cozumel in June. Eric decided to do the low carb thing again whereas I thought it would be better to do portion control and exercise. This makes it hard for us to eat together since he doesn't have a lot of food options. I on the other hand allow myself to eat whatever I want (although I have significantly cut out the sweets). So whenever we have dinner together I usually let him decide what we are going to have. We have been eating a lot of steak and chicken lately. I love steak but having it all the time starts to get old. I have to take one or two days out of the week to make a pasta dish so I can mix things up. Eric is of course on his own for those days so he usually eats a hamburger (minus the bun). I don't know if he is going to get burned out on
Mother’s Day Weekend
I had a great Mother's Day this year. On Saturday, we went to Home Depot and bought not only my mother's day gift, which was patio furniture, but also bought Eric's Father's Day gift...a new Weber grill. So now we are ready for some summer grillin'. It took forever at Home Depot to get everything loaded and we actually had to rent a truck to get everything home. Marin was so tired after that little trip.
On Sunday, we did a little shopping and then we found Marin's little blow up pool and put it in the backyard for her to play in. At first she was scared and didn't want to be in there. She just wanted to stand by it and put her hands in the water. So I finally put my bathing suit on and crawled in the tiny pool and put her on my knee. I probably looked ridiculous but I'll do some crazy things for my daughter to make her happy. She finally scooted off my knee and sat in the pool by herself. She had loads of fun playing with her submarine toy that her Aunt Tracy got her for her birthday. We got a little tan, too.
Sunday night, we watched TV outside on the projector. Eric set up the theater in the backyard. He was able to cut down the huge billboard tarp and hang it up against the house. It was a little chilly that night so we bundled up in blankets on the grass. Overall, it was a very pleasant weekend. How will we top this for the next Mother's day?
