Sick

Well, the weekend was spent being sick. Marin was sick and then I got sick. I am slowly getting better but I still feel pretty bad. Marin was unable to get her photos done on Saturday because her eyes were kind of red and her nose was runny. I thought that might not be a gook look in a photo. So I called and cancelled her appointment.

Marin is starting to figure out how to crawl. She is finally able to move forward and not just bounce in place like she had been doing for the past couple of weeks. She can also get into a sitting position from laying on her tummy. She just pushes those little arms and rocks back until she is sitting up. It is amazing how they figure all this stuff out on their own.

Marin the Genius!!

Marin is sitting up on her own now. She still falls over if she leans too far. She is going to be crawling real soon, too. She gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth but still hasn't figured out how to go anywhere. One of the ladies at her daycare told me Marin was advanced to be only 5 months old. So this means my daughter is a genius! [;)]

We went to Central Market again over the weekend because Eric wanted to try their salsa. I still stand by my prior statement that they snobbishly over price their products, however, I tried their tortilla soup from their soup/salad bar and it was delicious. So although I will never buy groceries there, I will have it on my list whenever I get a hankering for tortilla soup.

Eric finally got an gryo he has been craving. We went to Stratos on Saturday with Darren and Kelli. I was the only one who did not get the gryo plate. [^o)]

Eric’s Quest

Last week we decided to try eating healthier since Marin is going to look to us to be examples when she starts eating table food. I have no problem eating better foods but Eric is very picky. So over the weekend we were on a quest looking for some gyro meat that he swears is healthy. I don't like gyros but I agreed to go with him all over Plano looking for this stuff. We looked at Whole Foods and Central Market and neither place had it. What I did find was a bunch of overpriced food and people who are willing to pay for it to look "hoity toity", if you know what I mean. I am from a small town where Brookshire Brother's was the only grocery store. I am okay with getting groceries at our neighborhood Albertson's, although I miss Kroger but I refuse to drive 10 miles to get there. So I finally experienced Central Market after hearing all the hype and all I have to say is "Eh.." Needless to say, Eric is disappointed that he didn't find his gyros. Now he wants to fly to Florida so he can get an gyro at Miami Subs. I told him he has to wait until Marin is old enough to go to Disney World and then we can go to Florida. [:D]
